You know the routine by now. You spot a TikTok you want to save, or a story you want to watch without your name landing on the creator's list. So you copy the link, open a new tab, head to tik.ninja, paste, and go.
It works. But we kept thinking the same thing you probably did: why is this four steps?
As of today, it's one. The official Tik.Ninja browser extension is live for Chrome, Firefox, and Opera, and it puts an anonymous viewer button and a download button everywhere you need one on TikTok.
Get the Extension
Pick your browser and you're thirty seconds away:
- Chrome: Install from the Chrome Web Store
- Firefox: Install from Firefox Add-ons
- Opera: Install from Opera Addons
Using Microsoft Edge? The dedicated Edge version is in review and we'll add the link here the moment it's approved. In the meantime, Edge can install extensions straight from the Chrome Web Store, so the Chrome link above works today.
It's free, it works on public content only, and it collects zero data. More on that below.
View Any Profile Anonymously, Right From TikTok
Here's the feature that started it all. Open any public TikTok profile and you'll see a new button sitting next to Follow: View Anonymously.
One click opens that profile in the Tik.Ninja viewer. No login, no account, and no trace left behind. If you've read our guide on how anonymous story viewing works, you know the idea: the viewing happens on tik.ninja instead of inside your TikTok account, so there's no name for TikTok to attach to the visit.
That matters most for stories. Watch a story while logged in and the creator sees your username in their viewer list. Watch it through Tik.Ninja and they see nothing, because TikTok only lists logged-in viewers. The extension makes that the default path instead of the workaround.
Download Buttons, Everywhere You'd Want One
The second half of the extension is for saving. Once it's installed, download buttons show up across TikTok:
On video pages. A download button appears right in the action bar, next to like, comment, and share. Click it and the video opens in Tik.Ninja, ready to save.
On video cards. Every thumbnail in a profile grid, search results, or your feed gets its own download button, sitting right on the corner of the card. No need to open the video first.
On stories and photo posts. Story pages get their own download button, and photo posts are fully supported, including multi-photo posts in the popup viewer.
On profile pictures. A download button sits right on the avatar of any profile you visit. One click saves the full resolution 1080x1080 version, no screenshotting and cropping required.
The Right-Click Trick
This one might be the sleeper feature. The extension adds a right-click option to every TikTok link, and not just on TikTok itself.
Someone sends you a TikTok link in an email, a group chat you have open in the browser, a forum thread, anywhere. Right-click it, choose View anonymously on Tik.Ninja, and the content opens in the viewer without you ever setting foot on TikTok as yourself. It even works on those shortened vm.tiktok.com links that give no hint of what's behind them.
A Search Box in Your Toolbar
Click the Tik.Ninja icon in your toolbar and you get a mini version of the site: type any @username or paste a TikTok link and jump straight to the anonymous viewer.
The popup is also where the settings live. Every feature has its own toggle, so if you want the anonymous viewing buttons but not the download buttons on cards, flip one switch and it's done. Everything else keeps working.
What About Privacy?
A fair question to ask of any extension, and especially one with "anonymous" in the name. So here's the straight version.
The extension collects nothing. No analytics, no tracking, no browsing history, nothing sent anywhere. The only thing it stores is your on and off settings for each feature, and those stay in your own browser. It runs only on tiktok.com and never touches any other site you visit. You can read the full details in our privacy policy.
One honest clarification, because we'd rather over-explain than oversell: the extension does not make your browsing on TikTok itself anonymous. If you're logged into TikTok and scrolling, TikTok sees you, extension or not. The anonymity comes from viewing content through tik.ninja instead, with no account and no login. The extension's job is simply to put that option one click away, wherever you are. Our post on TikTok viewer safety covers how to judge claims like this from any tool, ours included.
Found a Bug? Tell Us
This is version one, and TikTok has a habit of rearranging its pages without warning. If a button stops showing up, lands in a strange spot, or something just feels off, we want to hear about it.
Send us a note through the contact page with which browser you're using and where you saw the problem, and we'll get a fix into the next update. Feature ideas are just as welcome. The extension exists because people kept asking for fewer steps, so if there's a click you think we can remove, say so.
Common Questions About the Extension
Does the creator get notified when I use it?
No. Viewing through Tik.Ninja never touches your TikTok account, so there's no username to add to any viewer list. Same rule as the website, now one click closer.
Is it free?
Completely. No account, no signup, no premium tier hiding the good buttons.
Does it work on private accounts?
No, and nothing legitimate does. The extension and the Tik.Ninja viewer only work with public content, the same content TikTok already serves to anyone. If an account is private, that stays the creator's call. Any tool claiming otherwise is one to stay away from.
What data does the extension collect?
None. The only stored data is your feature toggle settings, kept in your own browser. Nothing is transmitted to us or anyone else.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome, Firefox, and Opera today, using the links above. A dedicated Edge version is in review and coming soon; until then, Edge users can install the Chrome version directly from the Chrome Web Store. Most other Chromium browsers, like Brave, can too.
Do I need the extension to use Tik.Ninja?
Not at all. The website works exactly as it always has. The extension just removes the copy-paste step for the times you're already mid-scroll.
Ready to skip the four-step routine? Grab the extension for Chrome, Firefox, or Opera, and TikTok gets a lot more one-click. And if anything misbehaves, the contact page is always open.
